Manure spreaders are used to carry animal waste and spread it on the fields as fertilizer. Spreaders are loaded from the storage pile near the barn and towed to the field. Some manure may be stored in large concrete tanks and spread as liquid on the fields. The manure is worked into the soil using a disk or cultivator in the springtime.

Farmers need to record the weight of their animals. This large scale allows the animals to be weighed right on the truck.
