RESPONSE BRUCE: CPIP

  • The following is the response from OCA to a direct county resolution from Bruce County.

As you may know, OCA is monitoring the recent implementation of the Alberta Cattle Price Insurance Program (CPIP) to assess its ability to help Ontario producers.  Two OCA Directors are participating on a four-man panel set up by the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) to examine the program and suggest changes to it.  CCA is leading the lobby to develop CPIP nationally.  The Alberta program was launched in mid-September, and details are now available on the Agriculture Financial Services (AFSC) Website. Producers can view this program at www.afsc.ca, and decide how a program like this might work for their operation.

Thank you for your support of this national lobby.
