In an attempt to flow more money to counties and allow smaller
counties a chance to undertake local promotion and education
efforts, OCA provides 80%
sharecosting (to a maximum of $2500 for consumer projects
and $2500 for producer projects) to county cattlemen’s
associations who complete the appropriate paperwork (for a
county total of $5000).
PROGRAM
DETAILS:
-
Regardless of the amount of sharecost projects completed,
the total support per county can not exceed $5000 for both
programs
-
There were NO eligibility restrictions
on the program – whatever a county chose to sponsor or put
through the program is accepted (See below for note
regarding Web sites)
-
The “BUT” was that cost-recovery endeavours were not
covered. i.e) If a county hosted a barbecue and paid $1000
to host it, but sold tickets and made $450 back in profit,
only the remaining $550 could be put through the program.
That is, only a net loss could be recovered
-
NOTE: All counties
were allowed to have Web sites run through OCA for FREE.
If a county chooses to run and maintain its own Web site,
those costs are not eligible.
